| Bento # 666 |

So.. I hope I am not offending anyone.. but since it was # 666 and that number is.. well.. the number of the Beast.. I thought I'd do a devilish bento to celebrate it. As an added, and unexpected bonus, I happened to find chili spahgetti today in an arab grocer. It is HOT! I bought it because it was red, but it also tastes differently than "ordinary" spaghetti. Definitely hot as h... ^_^

Bento # 666
Corn cob. Broccoli. Chicken Chunks (breaded chicken). Kiwi.
Chilipasta with ketchup, decorated with bell pepper and carrot. |

The world's fastest bento *L* Or at least close. All this is, is leftovers from dinner - pasta and bolognese sauce. I tried to spruce it up a little with some moon-watching rabbits, but it's still ... pretty simple. But at least it'll be served hot as it's in a thermal container :)

Bento # 665
Bolognese with yellow pepper stars and -moon. Pasta with parmasan, hidden under some carrot rabbits and broccoli trees. |

Hi folks, here is a bento I posted on bentochallenge. This week's topic is to make a bento that recreates a famous work of art. And what work of art is more famous (or awesome) than the Dogs Playing Poker? It's very crude but I had fun making it.

Background is bread with pasta sauce. Table is spinach leaves over cheese slice. The rest are made from various bits of cheese, radish, carrot, dates, almonds, grapes, red cabbage and a Triscuit. |

I have rediscovered wax paper recently and some how find it more bentoish than other wraps. In this bento: simple and healthy... mini sammies, pickled okra, grape tomatoes and a sugar free peanut butter cup, cause I stopped eating sugar. If you are hanging onto your sweet tooth, you might enjoy this non-bento but very chocolaty blog post. |

 Fake Curry with white rice
Having never had real curry before, and not knowing what it tastes like, I'm only guessing that the recipe I use is halfway decent. I like it though..
I'd like to thank you guys for answering my earlier questions. :-) And if my image is too large, please let me know. |

| Sandwich Bento... sort of! |
[Nov. 23rd, 2009|04:57 am] |

I was asked to make a sandwich for mum's lunch tomorrow... there is a sandwich in there! Ham and mustard to be exact, then I got a little carried away. She also has pasta salad, some tomatoes, an Italian Stuffed Dough Ball, some carrot and pepper sticks and some dried apricots, dried cranberries, almonds and two fruit gummys. However, I'm pretty certain she just wanted the sandwich. Oops! |

| Bento # 662 |
[Nov. 23rd, 2009|01:34 am] |
For once a bento of mine with actual onigiri *L* Mostly because I had some leftover rice and my kid is totally mad about this "russian salad" which is basically pickled beet root in mayo. Great as a sandwich spread so now I'm giving it a go as onigiri-filling.
 |
Bento # 662
Ovenbaked beet roots, carrots, squash and potatoes, adorned with a little steamed broccoli and some carrot-Poohs.
Kiwi slices, chicken hotwings, onigiri with pickled beet roots and mayo and mini corn cobs. |
